Tracy Southworth

Registered Psychologist

Hi! My name is Tracy,

I was born and raised in Saskatchewan. I moved to Lethbridge to study psychology where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology. My passion for working with children led me to Japan where I taught English for three years. When I returned to Canada, I was inspired to continue to teach which precipitated earning a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. I taught in Calgary for approximately 17 years. I never forgot a childhood dream of becoming a psychologist thereby, while teaching, I completed a Master of Education in Applied Child and School Psychology. I have been working as a Registered Psychologist for approximately 4 years.

I provide psychoeducational assessments and interventions for referrals of learning, intellectual disabilities, as well as gifted and talented. Through a comprehensive assessment, I can explore social-emotional and behavioral expressions including anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. I received training in using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview- Revised (ADI-R) and I look forward to providing assessments of Autism in the future. I am an approved provider for Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD). Additionally, I have extensive experience in providing assessments for applications for Program Unit Funding (PUF) and corresponding early interventions.

I pride myself in providing an ethic of care to children and their families. I am committed to staying current in psychological research. Through a comprehensive assessment, I aim to develop an understanding of the whole child. As a result of the assessment, the family and the child can develop a better understanding of the child’s strengths and areas for growth. This personalized assessment approach yields strength-based intervention programming for children and their families.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss how a psychoeducational assessment may help your child.
